Story of the Turkish Towels

The History of "Turkish Towels" dates back to the 12th Century daily life of Mediterraneans. It was first used in bath houses in the Roman Empire, which were later called 'Hammams', then extended its use in kitchens, living rooms, patios, beaches, and more. By the 14th Century, the peshtemal was widely used in Europe, North Africa, and Middle East. It also used to indicate which region people are from. There are many kinds of peshtemal, with different styles and colors in different areas of Turkey and Iran.

The peshtemal absorbs water as fast as a traditional towel, dries very quickly, takes up less space, is easy to carry and is therefore used as an alternative to the towel in bathrooms, pools, spas, beaches, sports facilities, and for baby care. Because this thin cotton towel that is soft and absorbent, it is very quick to dry, limiting any bacterias growing in your towel. It's a great choice to wrap your body after a quick shower or a long bath, when you walk out the ocean or when on a picnic, it has a use for almost every occasion.
